WELDONE LUKASHYA FOR SENDING THE SIGNAL.
The dream come true has indeed come true. 27th August was set as nomination day for the Lukashya parliamentary seat which fell vacant following the demise of the former holder Mwenya Musenge MHSRIP. The United Party For National Development displayed a splendid attractive procession from their distant offices, which is about 5 kilometres from Tazara to the Civic Center where nominations took place.

There was pomp and splandor as they matched along the main highway Mpika Kasama road, in their colourful party, red regalia of T/Shirts and Chitenges. There was whistling, ululating, hooting and bursting in ecstasy. It was a maginating crowd puller as many enthusiast Kasamies joined the large crowd in their match to the Civic Center. To spice the occasion and add more colour to it were the Majorets who performed some acrobatics. The UPND crowd seemed to have swallowed the rivals Patriotic Front who looked like grass hopers, comprising mostly children. A day before the nominations day, the campaign manager Mr.Brian Mundubile, PF paliamentary Chief While who is also Mporokoso member of parliament, addressed a group of commanders and empasised on fending off the region as a no go area for the opposition UPND. To them the opposition was going to be shuned but they were in a rude shock as the impossible happened living PF mouths open in disbelief. The important thing the UPND should do is to keep the tempo, the outstretched hand should reach out to please for votes since ground is fertile, there is good will from the people and be vigilant to protect the vote. That big show has sent shievers in the PF camp and they will do everything to bribe and rigg as usual. Watch out, protect the Vote.
