……why all the noise about Monze booing?
WHY is the Patriotic Front so agitated with President Lungu’s booing in Monze when they have rewarded Dora Siliya with a ministerial position after she insulted late President Sata by raising her middle finger in parliament,” United Party for National Development (UPND) Lusaka Province deputy chairperson Anderson Banda has wondered.
Reacting to the PF and their agents’ crusade to chastise the UPND and its leader Hakainde over the incident, Mr Banda told a media briefing this morning that the people that booed Mr Lungu are not UPND members but the general citizenry displeased with his failed leadership.
He said the PF and their agents should not find solace in coming down on President Hichilema for their inept and poor service delivery.
Mr Banda said Lungu’s treatment in Monze was not the first time he has endured such as the embattled leader has on numerous occasions been booed and given a hostile reception by citizens in various parts of the country owing to his misrule and bad governance.
Mr Banda said the PF should instead blame Southern Province Minister Edify Hamukale for misleading Mr Lungu into believing he is a hero in Monze.
Asked on what the UPND’s response would have been if it was
President Hichilema who was booed by the residents of Monze, Mr Banda stated the UPND would have gone back to the drawing board in order to understand where they had gone wrong.
Mr Banda said booing is a legal way of expressing displeasure by those being governed when they feel short charged by those they put in office to lead them.
He called Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo’s threats that HH will not be allowed to travel to the Copperbelt as day-dreaming saying “no one can stop President Hichilema’s match into State House. The people of Zambia, who have suffered at the hands of the PF, will engage ruthlessly any thug that will attempt to implement Lusambo’s misguided threats.”
“Mr Hichilema will never walk alone. He is well protected by the disgruntled youths around the country and anyone who will attempt to endanger his life will have themselves to blame,” he said.
Mr Banda said no Zambian will celebrate Mr Lungu as he failed the country through his tolerance for corruption and leadership that rewards people like Lusambo.
