I or indeed any progressive Zambian have no apology to make in insisting that the 2016 election was stolen from Hakainde Hichilema and the result of this blatant robbery is beginning to rear its ugly head. Everything in the country is going horribly wrong and all at the same time.
PF supporters are saying their President’s strange behaviour is because he has been bewitched. Nothing can be further from the truth. It is because he stole an election belonging to HH and the people of Zambia.
Until and unless Edgar Lungu and all those that connived in this theft including a former President engage Hichilema and the Zambian voters who they robbed using the ECZ and other instruments of power, this beautiful Country is headed for the abyss. You don’t need an atomic scientist or a Sangoma to peer through this. It’s written all over. Let genuine dialogue to chart the path of this country begin without further delay.
You can’t hijack an aircraft from a pilot who is well versed with the navigation avionics and flight plan, and expect to safely direct it through various turbulences right to its destination. Since Edgar Lungu is an enthusiast of flying and is always in the air, he is expected to understand these simple dynamics of the rules of aircraft controls.
You can hijack a plane but you can’t steal the flight plan from the pilot’s head. You can steal an election but you can’t steal the vision from the vision carrier, because some people don’t undertake a journey without planning. You can’t compete in the Olympics without planning, or indeed undertake to run a full marathon without considering issues of nutrition and special training.
Hakainde Hichilema took part in an election with a plan, a vision and a passion to do the job but the vehicle in which to execute the plan was hijacked by criminals and scoundrels.
Late President Fredrick Chiluba made a religious declaration that consumed him a few years down the line. When he behaved in a manner that was not in line with the standards of the declaration he made, the covenant brought him back into line and humbled him.
Edgar Lungu must not think he is above that covenant which the late President committed this Country to. The act of a robbery of a destiny of someone else through the theft of an election and locking up Hichilema on trumped up charges after denying him a well deserved victory, has unmasked Lungu and brought him back down to earth.
Whoever doubts that Hichilema won the election and had a vision for it must consider how many times he has warned and graciously advised the PF without holding back, on matters of the economy and good governance. They have stubbornly refused to take his advice but everything he has cautioned them has come to pass exactly the way he predicted. That’s how to identify that the PF are sitting on a hot seat that is not theirs.
Edgar Lungu must swallow his pride and sit down with his brother and dialogue. He must also apologize to the Church Mother Bodies for disregarding their counsel on the issues of dialogue, good governance, corruption and the theft of public wealth by the PF from the citizens.
Unless Edgar Lungu and his PF friends urgently adhere to the above advice, what is currently obtaining is bound to get worse and Zambians are not willing to go down with them.
