Shalom Embassy Ministries overseer, Apostle Sunday Sinyangwe this morning u-turned on his earlier statement that UPND leader, Hakainde Hichilema will never enter State House saying every man’s destiny lies in the hands of God.
In his Sunday homily, Apostle Sinyangwe said it was not for man to decide who gets to lead Zambia but for God, adding that Mr Hichilema’s destiny is in God’s hands
This was during a service attended by UPND national Youth Information and Publicity Secretary Samuel Ngwira among others who dispelled assertions that the UPND had declared war on the church and its leader.
The visit to the church, sent congregants into jubilation after learning of the presence of the UPND youth leadership while the church leadership went into a brief panic.
And in a prayer for the UPND team, Apostle Sinyangwe took time to admit that President Hichilema is destined to rule Zambia and that when the time comes, he would eventually ascend to the helm of the country’s leadership.
And speaking to congregants shortly before the main service, Mr Ngwira noted that the UPND had so much respect for the role the church plays in fostering peace, unity and love among the people of Zambia.
He said the church has a moral and prophetic responsibility to ensure that political players respected democracy and upheld human rights and freedoms.
He said the world was looking for a Church that would call wrong by its right name, adding that the UPND looked forward to a time when the body of Christ would stand boldly and condemn the intolerance and political tension that has left Zambia’s peace hanging in the balance.
Mr Ngwira has since called for co-existence, tolerance and utmost restraint among political players in the country.
