As part of our community contributions, we have rehabilitated and handed over some boreholes in Milanzi, Katete District, Eastern Province. Safe and clean drinking water for our citizens throughout the country is a huge priority to us.

We advise that oversight institutions such as ACC, DEC, National Prosecution Authority and the Judiciary be strengthened and given independence to fulfil their mandate without fear or favour. #Zambia

The UPND has zero tolerance for corruption. The resources and public funds belong to the Zambian people and are meant to improve the welfare of every citizen. #Zambia
@HHichilema
The loss of 6.1 Billion Kwacha in a space of 9 months is a clear indication that the PF has gone beyond failing to govern in the interest of Zambians, they’re on a path of destruction.
Zambians deserve better!
@HHichilema
Here are our views on Zambia’s fiscal position and the way forward.
@HHichilema
We have been very clear on our position on Sales tax, KCM and the solutions the government can adopt to begin turning around the economy. Let us not be blinded by pride.
@HHichilema
We extend our thanks to the communities for working with our party structures on the ground in making sure our projects are smoothly implemented.
@HHichilema
Together, we will fix our nation’s problems. #Zambia #WeWillFixIt
@HHichilema
Our people are facing numerous challenges hence our small efforts in ensuring that they don’t share water with animals as is the case now in most parts of our country. #Zambia
@HHichilema
We have continued with our community contributions of providing clean and safe drinking water for our citizens, this time in Lundazi, Eastern Province. #Zambia
@HHichilema
The PF want to use tax payers money to campaign as they want Ministers to remain in office until election day.
@HHichilema
In the face of poor conditions of service and delayed salaries, UNZA, government institutions and other public sector workers should oppose PF’s proposed constitutional changes through the NDF to increase ministers and reintroduce deputy ministers.
‏@HHichilema
We must return to the dialogue process that was led by the Church Mother bodies, that builds consensus. #Zambia
@HHichilema
We attended church service at Kakuba SDA Church in Pemba District today. We implore each one of us in our country to put God first in all we do.
@HHichilema
We repeat. PF government should appoint a curator or receiver for KCM. Not a liquidator. We said this on radio Christian Voice on 23/05/2019.
@HHichilema
Our youth should not stay away from the governance of our country but take an active role. The future is theirs. #ZambiaForward
@HHichilema
The recommendations of the NDF are against the aspirations of the majority of Zambians.
@HHichilema
The downgrade by Moody’s means once the monetary measures taken by BOZ have waned, the exchange rates will go up, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is bound to reduce, with reduced FDI, we should brace for more job losses. #Zambia
@HHichilema
Targeting middle and low-income households for tax relief will be necessary to stimulate economic growth as they will spend the majority of the surplus on essential commodities. The entire value chain will benefit. #Zambia
‏@HHichilema
It does not cheer us to be vindicated over our warnings to the PF, that were ignored and have landed us in this mess. Our hope is that Zambians now understand where we were coming from and have faith in our insight and vision to deliver on our objectives.

@HHichilema
Congratulations to the people of Sesheke! Their area MP, Romeo Kangombe’s victory was upheld by the High Court. The will of the people of Sesheke was respected as they voted for their candidate of choice. #ZambiaForward
@HHichilema
We urge the PF to listen to our sound advice for the good of our economy and our people.
@HHichilema
Sales tax is a regressive tax whose net effect will lead to the poor paying a higher proportion of their salary in tax than the rich. We cannot support it. #Zambia
‏@HHichilema
GST will hurt households, savings, large and small businesses, which will lead to further closures and more job losses. Without a doubt, GST will slow down even further, our already declining economic growth. #Zambia
@HHichilema
GST is penal, more costly and difficult to collect. Overall, introducing GST is likely to result in the Treasury collecting less tax revenue to support health, education, food security and other social services. #Zambia
@HHichilema
VAT is relatively cheaper and easier to collect than some other taxes such as the unwise and inappropriate PF proposed GST. #Zambia
@HHichilema
VAT is a tax whose possible negative effect on low income earners can be mitigated through appropriate tax credits/allowances.
‏@HHichilema
The benefit of VAT lies, among others, in its ability to promote savings, capital formation and investment which is essential for economic development, jobs creation, business opportunities, social uplift and poverty reduction. #Zambia
‏@HHichilema
We believe in the efficacy of VAT as a fairer consumption tax for logical and technical reasons. When correctly implemented, VAT is likely to have a higher positive impact on the economy and society as a whole.
@HHichilema
PF should drop the idea of introducing the regressive General Sales Tax (GST) and return to VAT.
We had a wonderful time with our youths in Kabwata area who were doing sports and recreational activities. We fully encourage such activities as it helps keep the youth away from unproductive activities and illegal vices. #Zambia
@HHichilema
It is our party’s policy that any activity related to preaching and spreading the word of God and other Church related activities will not be taxed. Taxing the Church is the same as taxing God. It must be stopped.
@HHichilema
We will deliver on our commitments to all Zambians, regardless of race, tribe, creed and anything that maybe seen as a dividing line. We are one people, seeking only one thing, inclusive development. #Zambia
@HHichilema
Spent quality time interacting with our people at Cosmopolitan mall in Lusaka this afternoon. This opened our eyes more on how urgently our people desire a better Zambia.
@HHichilema
We joined fellow Christians at Pilgrim Wesleyan Church of Zambia in Chawama’s Jack compound today. It was delightful being in the house of the Lord with members of the community.
@HHichilema
Today we celebrate Africa Freedom day. Let us not take our freedom for granted but work to protect it. We liberated ourselves from colonial oppression but we now contend with oppression by authoritarian governments, led by our own people. #AfricaDay #Zambia
