On this International Day of Peacekeepers, we would like to acknowledge the many men and women in uniform who have staked their lives to serve humanity in distant places.
With our largest number of personnel in Central Africa Republic, we wish you well as you serve in one of the most dangerous missions in Africa, and perhaps in the world. You are some of Zambia’s bravest and finest sons and daughters, and the nation is so proud of you.
We would like to reaffirm that as part of the broader strategy on improving conditions of service, all your needs as you serve in peace operations will be met, once we are elected to serve, courtesy of the Zambian people. You will be provided with state-of-the-art equipment as well as ensuring that you get 100% allowances due, after completing the mission, in addition to the Monthly Service Allowance you collect while serving. We wish to emphasise that no penny will be deducted because the nation recognises your selfless sacrifice, outstanding performance and dedication to duty.
God bless our servicemen and women for all your hard work and for carrying Zambia’s flag with pride and honour. We pray for your safety wherever you are in the world and we also pray for your families whom you have left back home.
