We would like to thank our citizens, particularly our gallant women, from across the country for the peaceful manner in which they celebrated the International Day of Women yesterday.
Reports so far indicate there were no acrimonious incidents anywhere as everything went on peacefully. This is the kind of atmosphere and country we look forward to seeing. We may have political differences, but we should never weaponise that, by picking up pangas, machetes and all sorts of weapons and attack each other.
Our collective values as a peaceful and resilient people must never be robbed by an alien character driven by hate and violence. We are one people and have one great country to protect and be proud of.
It was a women’s day and our mothers all across the Republic have set the pace and raised the bar which Zambian youths must also emulate on their youth day celebrations on Thursday.
Once more congratulations to our women folk for showing the entire country that we can peacefully coexist.
