Ms Kasune said the fight against Coronavirus shall never be won in the absence of quality medical services and finds the construction of the health facility at a time when the country and the world is battling with the COVID 19 virus as a welcome gesture for the people of Keembe and Mukalashi in particular who are covering long distances to the nearest clinic for medical services.
She said her and the local leadership that include headmen and councillors were so grateful and thanked Jiangxi corporation for coming on board adding that this was a time to work hard and deliver to people’s expectations and not politicking as matters of health and development in general cut across political divides.
And Jiangxi Corporation general Manager XU JIANFENG says his company was proud to associate itself with the construction of the Mukalashi health facility and pledged to continue providing assistance to the community especially at the time when the country is battling to contain its COVID – 19 cases.
Mr.XU said his company which is currently constructing the Chibombo Multi-facility economic Zone has employed more than 500 local residents and spent more than thirty million United States Dollars on the MFEZ project.
Meanwhile, Chibombo Town Council Chairman, James Ntalasha who commended the two funders said the Mukalashi community will for the first time look back and appreciate the partnership of the two organisations and called on them to ensure that the property is guarded against any form of vandalism.
Once completed, the health facility will include the out-patient department, maternity wing, pharmacy and admission wards and will serve an area that is prone to Road Traffic Accident with most victims dying enroute to the nearest health facility, making it a very critical facility not only to the Mukalashi residents.
