PF has been the most violent ruling party in the history of the country. UPND has been at the receiving end of this violence. Most member like Hon Mwaliteta, spent over a year in Jail. Our Party president has been arrested more than 14 times for no apparent reason. Yet we are 10 x stronger.

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) chairman for economics and finance Situmbeko Musokotwane says the Patriotic Front (PF) government is printing money, a situation he has described as disastrous to the economy.
Featuring on millennium radio’s “Interview program,” Mr Musokotwane disclosed that the current balance sheet at the Bank of Zambia (BOZ) indicated that the central bank was loaning out money to government which in itself is equivalent to printing money.
The former finance minister (MMD government) said the current PF government had spent all the money from tax payers and that the only option they had was to borrow money from BOZ, a situation he said was equivalent putting more fuel to fire or salt to an open wound.
‘’The exchange rate under such circumstances is likely to go up because now even to pay external debt, the central bank will be loaning government which is a wrong way to do things,’’ he said.
Mr Musokotwane explained that the mining sector needed to be handled with care as it was the biggest tax payer, employer and forex earner which was benefitting the country.
‘’The PF always want to spend money without understanding production, this is why the mining sector is still facing challenges, in 2010 and 2011 our copper production was more than 2 million metric tons per year but currently we (Zambia) are below 800, 000 metric tons,’’ he said.
WELDONE LUKASHYA FOR SENDING THE SIGNAL.
The dream come true has indeed come true. 27th August was set as nomination day for the Lukashya parliamentary seat which fell vacant following the demise of the former holder Mwenya Musenge MHSRIP. The United Party For National Development displayed a splendid attractive procession from their distant offices, which is about 5 kilometres from Tazara to the Civic Center where nominations took place.
There was pomp and splandor as they matched along the main highway Mpika Kasama road, in their colourful party, red regalia of T/Shirts and Chitenges. There was whistling, ululating, hooting and bursting in ecstasy. It was a maginating crowd puller as many enthusiast Kasamies joined the large crowd in their match to the Civic Center. To spice the occasion and add more colour to it were the Majorets who performed some acrobatics. The UPND crowd seemed to have swallowed the rivals Patriotic Front who looked like grass hopers, comprising mostly children. A day before the nominations day, the campaign manager Mr.Brian Mundubile, PF paliamentary Chief While who is also Mporokoso member of parliament, addressed a group of commanders and empasised on fending off the region as a no go area for the opposition UPND. To them the opposition was going to be shuned but they were in a rude shock as the impossible happened living PF mouths open in disbelief. The important thing the UPND should do is to keep the tempo, the outstretched hand should reach out to please for votes since ground is fertile, there is good will from the people and be vigilant to protect the vote. That big show has sent shievers in the PF camp and they will do everything to bribe and rigg as usual. Watch out, protect the Vote.
